SEED THE WAY
Shelli Broadbent September, Sunday 23 2018 11am to 12pm FREE Why are seeds important? Why save seeds? What seeds can I save? In this workshop you will learn about the importance of seeds and saving seeds. Did you know the way you save your seed depends on the type of plant? Some seeds are saved after drying them out on the plant, some seeds are saved from the flesh of the fruit, still other seeds are saved after going through a fermentation process. You will learn about the techniques of saving different seeds, and so much more! The workshop will include demonstrations and hands on experiences on how to save your own seeds for generations to come! Shelli Broadbent has been a member of the Hamilton County Master Gardeners Association (HCMGA) for six years. She recently completed Seed School through Seed Savers Exchange. She has been involved in gardening since childhood. Shelli Co-chairs the seeds committee of HCMGA, which includes The Seed Library, The Annual Seed Swap, and, of course, Seed Saving. |
